BUT WHY? By the end of third grade, all students need to have mastered their multiplication facts (0-10) with three second automaticity. If all else fails, old fashioned flash cards can REALLY help with this. In addition, it is really important that students don't loose the automaticity of their addition and subtraction facts they learned in lower grades. APPS for iPADS As we all know students see math practice as this horrible icky medicine we're thrusting down their throat. We can add a little sugar by presenting math in an engaging and entertaining way... the iPad. Click on the icons to the right to learn more about some great iPad apps that help foster the skills your students need in class. Most of these have a free and paid version. The free versions tend to cut off at level one, but use it to test out your students desire to play and make a decision to buy off that. :D |
